Today, Dan Morrison and Natalia Ruiz-Junco talk with Paige Sweet, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sweet is the author of The Politics of Surviving: How Women Navigate Domestic Violence and its Aftermath, was published in 2021 by the University of California Press. Sweet is an expert on gender and sexuality, knowledge, gender-based violence, health and illness, the state, and embodiment. In addition to the book, Sweet’s research has appeared in American Sociological Review, Social Problems, Sociological Theory, and Signs: Journal of Women in Culture & Society, among other journals.
